Takedown Scoring and Stats
Known Issues

Current release: 3.5.6 (11/16/2025)

  • 11/18/2025 — recorded videos are not attached to the corresponding matches. The videos are in Apple Photos as expected.
Workaround: For unattached videos: in upcoming release 3.5.7 (week of 11/17), in Takedown you’ll be able to attach videos in Apple Photos to existing matches. This is a temporary feature to work around this bug and will be removed in a future release. To fix the problem in your installation for future matches, reset your iPad Settings if possible. Apple’s directions for doing this is here.
Plan: investigating. Although we’ve see the bug, we can’t reliably reproduce it.

  • 11/16/2025 — some reports of the Takedown Store presenting a Free Trial offer in the presence of valid subscriptions
Workaround: in Help>>Ask for Help, send us an email with the details. A screenshot of the Takedown Store and a screenshot of your Takedown Subscriptions in iPad Settings>>Account>>Subscriptions will speed up the process.
    Plan: investigating.

  • 11/16/2025 — some reports of wrestlers disappearing from rosters.
Workaround: for now, do not delete teams or wrestlers from rosters
Plan: investigating. If you experience this bug, please email support@levelchanger.com via Help>>Ask for Help. Let us know in as much detail as you can accurately offer what data is missing, what you were doing when you noticed the missing data and the date/time it happened.

  • 11/14/2025 — crash during Roster or Opponent Team download if ‘Include non-certified wrestlers when downloading rosters’ is switch off.
Workaround: turn this option back on. Move the switch to the right so that a green background is visible.
    Plan: fixed in release 3.5.6

  • 11/14/2025 — built in Boys 14 weight classes are incorrect
    Workaround:
    Plan: fixed 11/15/2025

  • 11/13/2025 — if you try to use a subscription with another team, the Takedown Store will fail. In practice, this situation occurs when a personal Apple Account (usually the coach’s) is used to purchase the subscription and subsequently moves on to coach another team. A Takedown subscription is tied to the Apple Account that purchased the subscription. It is also tied to the Takedown account.
Workaround: don’t use a personal Apple Account to buy subscriptions. But, if you do and end up in this situation, reach out to us at support@levelchanger.com and tell us your old team name in Takedown and state using Takedown>>Help>>Ask for Help.
    Plan: investigating

  • 11/13/2025 — during the first 3.5 installation for a Takedown account, error message: ‘Database migration connection lost’.
Workaround: force quit Takedown (instructions) and relaunch
    Plan: investigating.

  • 11/10/2025 — Takedown 3.5 crashes on launch for iPads running iOS 15
Workaround: (1) update to release 3.5.4 which solves once type of crash on iOS 15, (2) use an iPad with iOS 16+ to run Takedown, (3) reset your iPad settings to factory default. We have tested successfully a factory reset iOS 15 device with release 3.5.
    Plan: investigating.

  • 11/10/2025 — you can’t transition to release 3.5 using an iPad running iOS 15. It will crash.
Workaround: (1) if you have access to an iPad running iOS 16+, log in to Takedown on that iPad to transition to release 3.5, (2) if your iPad is upgradeable to iOS 16+, do the upgrade and retry, and (3) if those options aren’t available, reach out to support@levelchanger.com and we’ll migrate your data to release 3.5.
Plan: none, it will not be possible to migrate your Takedown data from release 3.4 to release 3.5 format.

  • 11/10/2025 — if you see this message: “ Error Domain=com.levelchanger.takedown Code=3100 "Database is not set up correctly." UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Database is not set up correctly.}” it means you’re trying to run release 3.4 but your data has been reformatted for release 3.5. Update your iPad to release 3.5.
Workaround: update the iPad to release 3.5
Plan: none, this is the intended behavior. Once your data is migrated to release 3.5, you can not use release 3.4 or earlier.

  • 11/9/2025 — USA Bracketing sourced rosters are incompatible with Takedown version 3.4 and earlier. Trying to download them with release 3.4 will cause a crash.
Workaround: (1) don’t download USA Bracketing sourced rosters in version 3.4 and earlier or (2) upgrade to Takedown version 3.5
    Plan: none.

  • 11/6/2025 — Matches recorded with video will have the scoring corrupted. These matches can’t be retrieved by our engineering team. They will need to be re-scored.
Workaround: don’t score matches using video. For matches that are already in this state, use the recorded video stored in Apple Photos to rescore the match.
    Plan: fixed in release 3.5.3

  • 2/11/2025 — scoreboard advertising durations are inconsistently applied
    Workaround: none
    Plan: investigating

  • 2/5/2025 — scoring multiple pins in a match was possible in older versions of Takedown. These matches will cause the pin count in certain reports to be overstated.
Workaround: rescore the match(es) so that there is one pin.
    Plan: none

  • 1/30/25 — getting a notification might stop video recording.
Workaround: enable Do Not Disturb. Note that this has the undesirable side effect of disabling the “Video Stopped Recording” notification that Takedown sends to your device when the operator puts Takedown in the background while video recording a match.
    Plan: none.

  • 1/30/25 — getting a system alert — low battery warning, for example — stops video recording.
Workaround: it is possible that enabling Do Not Disturb will prevent system alerts from appearing. Engineering is unable to test this situation.
    Plan: none.

  • 1/23/25 — In Season>Schedule, the camera icon — indicating video is available for an Event — is missing.
    Workaround: none
    Plan: reproducible, none.

  • 1/23/25 — error getting channels from YouTube reported in Manage Video.
Workaround: in Manage Video, log out of YouTube and log back in to YouTube.
    Plan: not reproducible, none.

  • 1/23/25 — secondary clocks disabled when Undoing back to previous period and match clock is 0:00
Workaround: add time to match clock.
    Plan: reproducible, none.

  • 1/23/25 — in Settings>>Takedown LIVE, persistent message says “checking for team registration” and match scores aren’t publishing to Takedown LIVE.
Workaround: log out of Takedown and log back in. In Settings>>Takedown LIVE, enable Takedown LIVE.
    Plan: reproducible. None.

  • 1/16/25 — swiping down and revealing Notifications during video recording will stop the video.
Workaround: turn off Notifications, don’t swipe down during a match.
    Plan: none

  • 1/13/25 — release 3.4.8 introduced a bug into the scoring of a dual meet double forfeit that causes a crash when the match is uploaded to Trackwrestling.
Workaround: if you experience a crash uploading to Trackwrestling, go to the Event in Takedown and delete double forfeits in the Event. For a dual meet, use ‘Double Forfeit Unscored Weight Classes” to easily rescore the double forfeits that you deleted.
Plan: release 3.4.9 fixes the scoring bug for newly scored double forfeits. It does not repair existing matches scored as double forfeits using 3.4.8. That repair needs to be done manually using the workaround above.

  • 11/26/24 — a blank rown can appear when selecting a wrestler from your Roster.
Workaround: it doesn’t cause any harm, ignore it.
    Plan: reproducible, investigating.

  • 11/18/24 — scoring interface becomes non-functional through some unusual scoring sequence. We’ve seen this twice in the field.
Workaround: Force quit the app and relaunch.
Plan: investigating. We don’t know how to reproduce this bug. If you can reliably reproduce it, please reach out to support@levelchanger.com.

  • 11/9/24 — Takedown LIVE. If you publish matches to Takedown LIVE and change the name of your tournament, the matches will appear as two different events.
Workaround: no workaround. Use the Event checklist before scoring.
    Plan: none

  • 11/9/24 — Takedown LIVE notifications are broken
    Workaround: none
    Plan: none

  • 10/28/24 — Videos appear to be local but they aren’t. They’re in iCloud Photos. During upload to YouTube, this can cause excessive delays as the video first has to be downloaded from iCloud Photos to your iPad before it can be uploaded to YouTube.
Workaround: don’t use iCloud Photos. It creates multiple problems that are frustrating, unexpected and difficult to diagnose. Turn iCloud Photos off. iCloud Drive is not the same as iCloud Photos and it is OK to leave iCloud Drive enabled. Do not use iCloud Photos.
Plan: none. Turn iCloud Photos off on your Takedown iPads to avoid frustrating and difficult to diagnose problems.

  • 10/28/24 — Videos disappear from iCloud Photos after deletion from device.
Workaround: If you delete the local video copy, that deletion persists to all your devices (registered to the same Apple ID) and iCloud Photos. Do not use iCloud Photos to backup your videos. If you want to keep a copy of your original Takedown-recorded videos, find a different method — Dropbox, Google Photos, Google Drive, iCloud Drive, copy to computer or external drive — for retaining your original Takedown-recorded videos. Note: iCloud Photos and iCloud Drive are different Apple services. iCloud Drive is fine as a backup location for your video. iCloud Photos is not. Do not use iCloud Photos on the same iPad as Takedown.
Plan: none, this is a iCloud Photos limitation.

  • 10/22/24 — Crash after launch on Macintosh
    Workaround:

    • Uninstall Takedown from the Macintosh

    • Delete associated Takedown files manually:

      1. In the Finder navigate to the home folder and open it

      2. To show hidden files, press Command + Shift + . (Note the period here) Hidden files will be in shown as light gray.

      3. Navigate to Library>Containers>Takedown. Move the Takedown folder to the trash and empty the trash.

    • Re-install Takedown from the App Store

    • Launch Takedown

      Plan: reproducible, none

  • 1/24/23 — enabling ‘Guided Access’ iOS feature will cause a crash in Scoring
Workaround: don’t enable ‘Guided Access’ iOS feature in iPad Settings
    Plan: investigating

  • 1/12/24 — Roster or Opponent Team wrestler edits are not reflected if the wrestler is already loaded as a competitor in Scoring. This does not impact how the wrestler names are saved when the match is complete.
Workaround: reselect the wrestler in Scoring
    Plan: fix in future release.

  • 1/12/24 — when using an external camera, the image in the viewport is flipped on its vertical axis. This can be disorienting. It does not impact the recorded video, just the image in the viewport
    Workaround: none
    Plan: fix in future release.

  • 11/30/23 — for Signing Up for Takedown, icloud.com email address doesn’t work.
Workaround: use another email address. A team-focused, Gmail address works best
    Plan: none. Cause is unknown.

  • 11/2/23 — state-specific weight classes in Settings do not automatically update with the most recent value.
Workaround: force-quit Takedown and relaunch to load any state-specific changes
    Plan: none

  • 6/3/22 — changing your My Team name may not persist to your Takedown LIVE presentation
Workaround: let us know at support@levelchanger.com and we can manually fix. You can also manually configure your Takedown LIVE appearance in Takedown>>Settings>>Takedown LIVE.
    Plan: reproducible, none
