Takedown 4.0 Is Coming Later This Month
Coming later this month
Takedown 4.0 will be available in the App Store later this month. Major feature additions and improvements:
Dual meet tournaments
Version 4.0 adds a dual meet tournament event type, including multi-day events with separate weigh-ins for each day.
USAW tournaments are implemented, including support for all age groups.
Two related changes: you can move between events without leaving the Scoring tab, and each event has its own Event Roster for identifying the athletes participating in that event.
Freestyle
Full freestyle support, including the complete set of freestyle scoring notations. The reports available for folkstyle events are available for freestyle events.
Coaches Practice Planner
Practices in Takedown have tracked attendance and weight. The Practice Planner builds on that, in the same part of the app: you plan the practice itself — segments, timing, sequence — and run it from the app.
Activities can be tagged with a video — any external link. Tag a segment with a penetration step video, for example, and it travels with the plan.
The plan can be emailed to coaches and athletes with a single tap.
Practices can be scheduled for a full season at once: schedule one practice and repeat it weekly.
Shareable calendar
Takedown publishes a calendar of your events and practices. Share it once and athletes, parents, and staff add it to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook. When you change a date in Takedown, their calendar updates.
Contacts and email
Parent and guardian contact information is part of the wrestler's roster entry.
Email has been rebuilt with more control over who receives which messages.

Availability and requirements
Takedown 4.0 requires iOS 18.6 or later. Check your iPad for installed iOS version before release day.
Some older iPads cannot update to iOS 18 and will not be able to download this release.
An iPad that cannot reach iOS 18 but can run iOS 15 can download Takedown 3.5 from the App Store.
Takedown 4.0 ships later this month. We will post here and email subscribers when it is available.
